A little background on Kidlington:
Kidlington is a large village just north of Oxford. It is home to the C of E Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin, which is a Grade I listed building dating back to 1220, although Roman remains suggest there was a building on the site much earlier. In 1671, the almshouses were built next to the church by Sir William Morton, a Royalist Commander in the English Civil War, in memory of his wife and children.
